I think that Lucy is trying her hardest to bring Naduah into the family. She is the nicest person to her. Naduah likes her the Lucy the most, I think. But Naduah is mean to just about everyone when they disrespect her culture and her way of life. Sometimes Lucy even joins in.

I agree, and Ben believes everything he says. So Naduah treats them meanly. But I think that Naduah will grow to like the family.

Well, Lucy is often with her Mother, and Naduah is left alone with Topsannah. Or all three are together, and Mother cooks or something.

Yeah, I don’t remember Naduah being mean to her, but not being kind. I can’t remember exact times, but Naduah mostly is with Lucy, her baby, or alone.

Lucy disrespected Naduah’s culture one day and Naduah ran away. I’m at the part when Naduah is in the forest and she’s returning. But Naduah was saying to herself that even the nicest person, Lucy, was capable of cruelty.
